A record number of volunteers toured the village on the morning of Saturday 23 March to clean up our roads and pavements. 19 adults and 4 very enthusiastic children, equipped with pickers, sacks and HiVis vests were out and about to keep our village tidy. This is by far the greatest number turning out to help in recent years.
22 bags of litter were collected + 2 footballs, 2 tyres, a variety of large pieces of hard plastic and a glass windscreen. Wealden District Council are removing these items from the Church car park.
Many thanks to all those who took part; to the weather for staying dry and not too cold or windy and a big thank you to Sheila Cumming for organising this valuable event.
